Funeral services for Thomas Edward Hawkinson, 67, of Mobile, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Jacksonville. The Rev. Mike Howard will officiate. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel & Cemetery is in charge.
Mr. Hawkinson served in the United States Air Force, with a tour in Vietnam. He was also a member of the United States Secret Service. He was the director of the Auburn University K-9 Detection Training Center.
Mr. Hawkinson was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur William Hawkinson Jr. and Fannie Jean Furr.
He is survived by his daughter, Loria Jean (Christopher Paul) Crews; grandchildren, Colby Davis Crews and Camden Piper Crews; siblings, Mary Margaret Hawkinson Stanley and Charles William Hawkinson.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
