James Wallace Usry, 71, of Gadsden, died Thursday, April 12, 2012. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct arrangements.
Mr. Usry was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church of Coates Bend. He was a veteran, having served with the Army in Vietnam. He retired after 35 years service with the Etowah County tax collectors office. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Garnette Usry.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cleva Wiggins Usry; children, Robin and Clint; grandson, Cameron; brother, Edwin (Linda) Usry; nephews, Brian (Tiffani) and Wade Usry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church of Coates Bend, or

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, as well as the doctors and nurses of UAB for their kind and loving care.
Mr. Usry will lie in state today from 10 a.m. until noon at Macedonia Baptist Church of Coates Bend.
