Mrs. Catherine Stabler, 91, died May 7, 2012, with her husband, Dr. Sammy Stabler, by her side.
Service for Mrs. Stabler will be held Friday evening, May 11, 2012, with her grandsons, the Rev. Mark Adams and the Rev. Don Woolley, along with the Rev. Griff Pemberton officiating. The service will be at Perry Funeral Home at 7 p.m. with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Gordo City Cemetery, Gordo, Ala, at 1:30 p.m.
She was born April 19, 1921, in Purvis, Miss., to Willis and Marie Collum.
Mrs. Stabler was an active member of Centre First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and the Civitan Club. She loved to sew, quilt, paint and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Sammy Stabler; her children, George (Margaret) Stabler of Mt. Airy, Ga., Anita (Jimmy) Adams of Tuscaloosa, Bettye (Doug) Eubanks of Mobile; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sudie (Jim) Lott of Perry, Ga., and Vera (Fred) Hammer of Albertville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Marie Collum; and Helen Lewis, sister.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centre First United Methodist Church.
