Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Chapel for James E. Hardin Sr., 87, Gadsden, who died at his home on Saturday, May 12, 2012. The Rev. Craig Sitz will officiate. Burial will follow at Young's Chapel Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Chapel is in charge.
Mr. Hardin was retired from Republic Steel.
He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 61 years, Evelyn Marie Neal Hardin; parents, William and Pearl Hardin; four brothers; and four sisters.
He is survived by his sons, James E. (Elizabeth) Hardin Jr. and Charles W. (Cheryl) Hardin; daughters, Pat (Joe) Tucker, Barbara (Johnny) Childress, Judy (Tim) Langley and Cindy (Donald) Campbell; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Special thanks to Pastor Craig Sitz, nurse Barbara Cornelius and Comfort Care Keepers: Kim, Marlene, Karen and Freida.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service Tuesday at the funeral home.
