Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at North Gadsden Seventh-Day-Adventist Church, 120 Baswell St., off of U.S. Highway 411, behind the Dollar General, for Mary Burchfield, 95, of Gadsden. Pastors Rick Blythe and Mike Duncan from the Gadsden and Piedmont Seventh-Day-Adventist Churches will officiate with burial at Fairview Baptist Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Her family and her relationship with God meant the world to Mrs. Burchfield. She and Clifford, her husband of 55 years, founded Burchfield Produce Co. in 1937. They also were charter members of Seventh-Day-Adventist Churches of Gadsden and Piedmont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford R. Burchfield Sr.; grandchildren, Freddie Guinn Ward and Charles "Chuck" McGinnis.
She is survived by her sons, Ray (Mary Anne) Burchfield Jr., Paul Burchfield and Steven (Debbie) Burchfield; daughters, Faye McGinnis, Patricia (Lee) Waites, Bobbi Bridges and Ramona Burchfield; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Oluwole Akisanya, M.D., Jennifer Patterson, P.A., the Riverview Hospital staff, Bill and Tina Lester and the staff of Gadsden Healthcare Center.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the church.
