Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Village Chapel for Margaret Floreine Lankford, 88, Gadsden, who died June 16, 2012. The Revs. Danny Flora and Charles Beshears will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge.
Mrs. Lankford was a member of Slackland Baptist Church. She loved flowers and her dog Missy. Mrs. Lankford was preceded in death by her husband, William Lankford Jr.; daughters, Janice Hill and Judy Chandler; son-in-law, John Chandler; and granddaughter, Yvonne Cranford.
She is survived by her son, William L. Lankford; daughter, Rita Lankford Ledford; grandchildren, Kevin Bramlett, Sean Chandler, Erik Lankford, Duane Hill, Jessica Pope, Jon Ledford and Summer Lingerfelt; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Billie) Usry; sister, Dot (Billy) Phillips; special friends, Patty Pope and Bill Pope.
Pallbearers will be Jon Ledford, Chris Rice, Sean Chandler, Edwin Usry, Duane Hill and Heath Lingerfelt.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Amedisys Hospice and Home Health Care for their care and kindness through this difficult time.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
