Edwin Lee Lockridge (Edd), of Orange Beach, Ala., passed away June 22, 2012, in Birmingham. A memorial service will be held at Orange Beach United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 28, at 3 p.m., preceded by visitation at 1:30 p.m.
Edd was born in Gadsden to the late Harold and Yvonne Lockridge on Aug. 10, 1951. Edd was in the class of 1969 at Gadsden High School, served in the Air National Guard and attended Gadsden State Community College. In Gadsden, he served as a Sheriff's deputy and worked several years for Gulf States Steel Company and Gadsden Scaffold. After approximately 10 years as a State Conservation Officer (Game Warden) in Montgomery, he moved to Orange Beach and served as a Marine Policeman and boat captain.
Edd was a loving father to Jennifer Ramage (Jim), Michael Lockridge (Barbra), and Lisa Stevens (Jeff). He was the world's best Pop Pop to five grandchildren. Edd will also be remembered by his sister, Katrina Wimpee (Randy); and brother, Hal Lockridge (Linda); along with his nieces and nephews and extended family. Edd also leaves countless friends who will miss him dearly.
