Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at Friendship Baptist Church, Gadsden, for William M. Lindsey, 69, Anniston, who died Thursday, June 21, 2012. The Rev. Danny Hamilton will officiate. Burial will be in North Gadsden Cemetery. Watson & Sons Funeral Home is directing.
Mr. Lindsey was born Aug. 12, 1942, to the late George W. and Jessie Lee Lindsey in Gadsden. His formal education was received in the public school of his birth. At a very young age he confessed to the beliefs and teachings of Jesus Christ and united with Friendship Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memories his blessed companion, Sarah Hearring of Anniston; his son, Cleveland George of Detroit, Mich.; his brothers and sisters, Rev. G.W. Lindsey Jr., of Huntsville, Lillie M. Lindsey Pritchard, Mattie B. Lindsey Thornton, Robert L. Lindsey (Lula), all of Gadsden, Mae F. James (Roosevelt) of Cleveland, Ohio; Elder Ruben L. Lindsey (Katie) Norchester, Mass., Ruth Lindsey, Cleveland, Ohio; aunt, Effie Coats of Gadsden; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
Visitation will be at 6 this evening.
