Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Salem Baptist Church for Margaret Parr Alexander, 73, Altoona, who died June 27, 2012. Bro. Stanley Naylor will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.
Mrs. Alexander was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was retired from Birmingham Electric Battery Company. She was preceded in death by her son, Wendell Alexander; brother, Ernest Parr; mother, Edith Parr Bynum; and father, Joe Parr.
Survivors: husband, Howard Alexander, Altoona; sons, Phillip Alexander, Altoona, Larry Alexander, Altoona; sister, Carolyn Warren, Arab; granddaughter, Jennifer (Jerry) Elrod, Boaz.
Pallbearers: Phillip Alexander, Jeff Hilburn, Zach Hilburn, David Dunn, Mike Perky and Buddy Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers: Amedisys Hospice and precious nurse, Carmon Wagnon, and Angela Green.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
