Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Edna Dean Payne, 76, Ashville, who died Thursday, June 28, 2012. Terry Tibbs will officiate. Burial will be in Old Harmony Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory is directing.
Mrs. Payne retired from Liberty Trouser Sewing Factory in Ashville, where she worked for almost 30 years. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Henderson Payne; parents, Julian and Ester Bearden; brothers, Maurell Bearden and Lewis Bearden.
Survivors: daughters, Patsy (Wayne) Turley, Walnut Grove, Kathy (Ron) Nelson, Ashville; sister, Edith Medders, Rainbow City; grandchildren, Tony (Renee) Sheffield, Ashville, April (Jesse) Ratledge, Rainbow City, Chris (Shannon) Turley, Walnut Grove, Katie (David) Rigsby, Gadsden; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Mackenzie and Maggie Mae Sheffield, Austin and Jade Ratledge, Ava and Emma Martinez, Bryant Rigsby; brothers, Hilton Bearden, Ashville, Arling (Earlene) Bearden, Alexandria; sisters-in-law, Delaine Bearden, Miami, Fla., Francis Bearden, Rainbow City, Teresa Myrick, Steele, Nellie Payne, Walnut Grove.
Pallbearers: Tony Sheffield, Chris Turley, David Rigsby, Austin Ratledge, Mike Sheffield and Foy Bearden.
