Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crestwood Chapel for Wanda Franklin Wallace, 72, of Gadsden, who died Friday, July 6, 2012. Tommy Puckett will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Wanda was a 1958 graduate of Emma Sansom High School and attended Lee College in Cleveland, Tenn. In her early career, she worked as a legal secretary for Rowan Bone Law Office, and also for Inzer, Suttle, Swan and Stivender. Later in life, she was a calligrapher and pianist, playing for various churches through the years. She also played for her sisters in the Franklin Trio during her childhood.
She is survived by her children, Deanna Blood, Darlea (Jim) Henderson and Jeff (Tish) Lemons; grandchildren, Jenny Orr, Matthew and Abby Henderson, Annabelle and Nathaniel Blood, and Hayden Blood; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Elliot Orr; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Special thanks to the staff at UAB trauma and burn unit and to Nolan Hospital Anniston for their care after her car accident, and for all the prayers and support from family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
