Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Steven "Butthead" Peterson, 51, Gadsden, who passed away on July 7, 2012. Speaker will be Debbie Handy. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.
Mr. Peterson was employed with Old Dominion Freightline for 15 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and NASCAR racing at Talladega. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Peterson; aunt, Martha Faye Armstrong; and stepmother, Carolyn Peterson.
Survivors: wife, Ina Peterson, Gadsden; father, Bill "Pete" Peterson, East Gadsden; daughters, Shanna Lumpkin, Gadsden, Shae (Chris) Meeks, Gadsden, Rebekah Lumpkin, Gadsden, Laura Barton, Gadsden, April Barton Edwards, Gadsden, Amy Simpson, Gadsden, Peggy Jo Atha, Gadsden; six grandchildren; sisters, Debbie (Lanny) Handy, Gadsden, Angel (Dody) Wyatt, Milner, Ga., Nina Jenkins, Milner, Ga.; brothers, Dave, Danny and Lanny Handy, Gadsden, Mike Atha, Gadsden; uncles, Charles "Uncle Fluffy" Abney, C.T. "Grumpy" (Helen) Abney; cousins, Lisa Hooks, Jeff Abney, Susan Gossett, Michael Abney, Keturah Robershaw, Joey Jones, Tammy Waldon, Lisa (Earls) Harden, Ronnie "Scooter" Harden, Kenny Rodgers, Angie Rodgers (Sims), Daniel Rodgers, Johnny Harden, Cindy Harden, Alan Harden, Sissy and Mary Harden; special friends, Steve, Connie Bullock, Kim Lumpkin, Big Jim and many more.
Pallbearers will be Mike Atha, Dayrel Horsley, Kim Lumpkin, Chris Meeks, Angel Wyatt, Don Gibson, Greg Lee and Mike Simpson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
