Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Crestwood Chapel for Lucille Whitten, 96, of Oneonta, who died July 30, 2012. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
She was the wife of the late Rev. John C. Whitten. She loved teaching Sunday School and playing with her great-grandchildren. Her sweet spirit touched so many lives. She loved her family.
She is survived by her sister, Hazel Marie Stephenson; daughter, Francis Marie Beasley; son, Thomas Whitten; son-in-law, Gene Beasley; grandchildren, Blake Whitten, Rodney Beasley, James Beasley, Todd Beasley and Brooke Whitten; great-grandchildren, Andrew Beasley, Zachary Beasley, Ian Beasley and Katie Beasley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 4111 Susan Moore Road, Blountsville, AL 35031.
Pallbearers will be Blake Whitten, James Beasley, Rodney Beasley, Todd Beasley, Gene Beasley and Ronnie Dykes.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
