Kari Davidson Obituary
Our beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt and friend passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013, after a long battle with brain cancer.
Kari is survived by her husband, Lee Davidson; children, Jacob and Luke Dowdy, Caden, Claire and Chloe Davidson, and Katie Rary; parents, Barbara O. and Randy Scott, Robert and Delaney Swann; parents-in-law, Larry and Linda Davidson; sisters, Kelli (Shelton) McElroy and Miranda (Clint) Brannon; brother, Taylor (Melissa) Morgan; sisters-in-law, Loey (Matthew) Mills, Amanda (Jackie) Justus and Djuana (James) Warren; brother-in-law, Greg (Paula) Davidson; grandmother, Vera Stephens; special nieces and nephews, Corey and Carlie Connett, Joshua Brannon, Sloan Morgan, KC (Frank) Ing and Issac, Marly Warren, Noah Davidson, Jackson, Emma Grace, John David Justus, Alex, Canaan, Micah, Jonah, Georgia and Ashton Mills; and multiple cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Kari was a 1986 graduate of Gadsden High School and a graduate of Jacksonville State University. She received her master's degree in library science from the University of Alabama. Kari was an educator and taught at R.A. Mitchell Elementary, G.W. Floyd Elementary and Jessie Dean Smith Elementary Schools for many years. Kari was an active member of CrossPoint Community Church.
Very special thank you to Kari's many loving friends and to the staff and faculty of R.A. Mitchell Elementary, CrossPoint Community Church and to Lawley Hospice nurses and staff for all of your loving care, thoughts and prayers for Kari and her family.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. today prior to the service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

I have not kept up with Kari since we graduated together from hogh school, but she made a lasting impression on me! Kari and I rode our bikes together to Eura Brown. She often carried my books so that I could "pop wheelies" on my bike. One day, she wrecked her bike while carrying my books and really cut her leg badly! I have never gotten over feeling so guitly about that! I spent quite a lot of time with Kari and at her house as we grew up together and graduated high school together. She was a warm, kind person and I can remember telling myself as I was maturing that I should try to be more like her. Again, she made a lasting impression on me, which I know she did for many! I have had the pleasure of being a Mother with Kari for many years. Our children have been stuck like glue since they were in pre-school. I loved her dearly and will miss her even more.
To Kari: I promise to take you in my heart and in my thoughts to everything our children do…even though I know you'll already be there and have a better view.

Kari was such a beautiful person inside and out. She would insist that I go on walks with her and talk me through the most difficult time in my life. I will never ever forget her. I knew her as Mrs. Dowdy. Although she was not my teacher at G.W. Floyd, we still had many interactions together. After the many years, we would still greet each other graciously in seeing the other in passing and she was still as sweet and caring then as she was when I was a little boy. My condolences to the family. May she rest in peace.

To Kari's boys Jacob & Luke, parents, and her husband;
My heart is heavy with the thoughts of Kari's death. She & I shared the same birth date & month. We were in the band together at Disque and went to Gadsden High.
Kari came to Jesse Dean and worked with us for a few years. Then she went to Mitchell and taught my 2 children their last two years there. She has always been a sweet person inside & out with such a beautiful smile & a sweet sense of humor. I know she's smiling because she's resting now safely in his arms. No more pain my friend.......
