Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for Mr. Lewis R. "Randy" Taylor, 72, Gadsden, who passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014. The Revs. Albert Morgan, Ricky Haygood and Dewayne Boyd will officiate. Burial will be at the adjoining cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Randy was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He was an avid animal lover, especially to his dog Saban, and enjoyed gardening. He was good to one and all, and you always felt loved and welcomed by him.
Randy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Minnie Taylor; grandson, Christian Taylor; eight brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jeneal "Jan" Taylor; children, Angela (Kevin) Napper, Mike (Donna) Taylor, Thomas Taylor, Tina Taylor (Jason) Retzer, Tammy (Kelly) Carpenter and Tonya (Travis) Pollard; grandchildren, Donnie (Crystal) Napper, Justin Napper, Adam Napper, Crystal Taylor, Dewayne Boyd, Chandler Taylor, Ashley Taylor, Joshua Carpenter and Abram Pollard; great-grandchildren, Trinity Napper, Cody Taylor, Mason Taylor, Haley Taylor, Brody Napper, Chase Taylor and Madison Taylor; sister, Jean Tennyson; and a host of special nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Donnie Napper, Justin Napper, Adam Napper, Dewayne Boyd, Joshua Carpenter, Abram Pollard; and nephew, Jimmy Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be sons-in-law and daughters-in-law.
The family extends a special thanks to the late Dr. Vijay Misra and K.J. Shah.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
Randy will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
