Wallace R. "Ronnie" Waldrop, 66, of the Cliff Springs community, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at St. Vincent's East Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr. Waldrop was a longtime resident of Altoona and retired as the Superintendent of the West Etowah Water Authority. Mr. Waldrop loved singing and preached for over 30 years. He also enjoyed mowing his yard.
Mr. Waldrop was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Minnie Grogan Waldrop.
He is survived by wife, Peggy Davenport Waldrop, Cliff Springs community; son, Dewayne Waldrop (Vickie), Altoona; grandchildren, Amanda, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Justin, Trevor and R.J.; great-grandchildren, Meghan and Hernando Rivera; one sister, Lynette Banks, Altoona.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today from Lemley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Altoona/Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mark Davenport, Tim Davenport, Glenn Davenport, Michael Walker, Alan Walker and Phillip Walker.
Honorary pallbearers: Randall Davenport, Rodney Banks and Bud Hilburn.
