Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Bethel United Baptist Church for Opal B. McDonald, 88, of Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014. She will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. The Revs. Albert Morgan and Billy Ramsey will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. McDonald was a member of Bethel United Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She loved everyone and was a precious, praying lady who is without a doubt in Heaven kneeling at Jesus' feet. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond McDonald; and son, Marshall McDonald.
She is survived by her daughter, Aleisa McDonald Hilley; grandson, Tyler Ray Deerman; sister, Louise Beal; and brothers, James Taylor, Luther Taylor, Jerry Taylor and Virgil Lee Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Hilley, Tyler Deerman, Tony Jones, Bobby Jones, Charlie Morgan and Trey Brothers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Revs. James O. Wallace, Ernest Campbell and Ricky Cornelius.
The family will accept friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
