Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Jerry T. "Hatchett" Garmany, 72, Attalla, who passed away Monday, June 9, 2014. The Rev. Rodney Prickett will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Garmany graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1961 and served in the Army National Guard from 1966-1970. He apprenticed from 1962-1966 and was a member of Ironworkers Local 92. He was a member of Alabama City United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Barney A. Garmany; mother, Lockie K. Garmany; and brother, Paul Garmany.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina (Keith) Allen; son, Mark (Sharon) Garmany; grandsons, Kevin (Natalie) Humphrey and Matt Humphrey; granddaughters, Carol Anne Garmany and Chelsea Humphrey, Raven and Paden Allen; great-granddaughters, Allie Humphrey and Lily Kate Humphrey; friend and mother of his children, Vickie Shook; nephew, Michael Garmany.
Pallbearers will be Jim "Cranny" Cranford, James Snow, Max Brannon, John Sullivan, Melton Burgess, Dennis Bone, Kevin Humphrey, Matt Humphrey and Doug Hamil.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Reed, Classes of 1960 and 1961 of Emma Sansom High School, Phyllis Barrnett, Amanda Poe, Misty Allen and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice.
The family will accept friends from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home before the service.
