Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for Emma Frances "Boots" Lee, 88, of Hokes Bluff, who passed away July 7, 2014. The Rev. Jon M. Lee and Bro. Freddie Reynolds will officiate. Burial will follow at Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge.
Mrs. Lee was born in Etowah County and shared a life on the farm with her husband of 61 years in the Alford's Bend Community. She was an active member of Liberty United Methodist Church since 1943 and was currently the oldest member. She also served as secretary on the cemetery board. She has been a resident of Cherokee County Health and Rehab Center for 12½ years.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Johnny Olen Lee; parents, Rhuben and Lillie Croft; sisters, Nettie Lowery, Hazel Chestnut, Ruth Norton and Jeanette Fleming; brother, R. C. Croft; grandson, Thomas Olen Lee; daughter-in-law, Sherlyn Lee; and special friend, Claudine Mullins.
She is survived by her children, Linda Lee (Junior) Tucker, Terry Lee, Frances Lee (Jimmy) Allsup; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Edna Brittain and Glenda Helms.
Pallbearers will be Van and Darrell Lancaster, Steve Gross, Edward Croft, Robby Mullins and Frankie Shaw.
Special thanks to the Cherokee County Health and Rehab Center nursing and staff, the Cherokee Medical Center nursing and staff and Dr. Bryan Nelson.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Cherokee County Health and Rehab Center or the Liberty United Methodist Cemetery Fund.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
