James Glenn Davidson, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2014.

Mr. Davidson was a lifelong member of Christ Central Methodist Church in Gadsden. He was involved with the church financial, building and property projects, and a longtime member of the choir. He graduated from Gadsden High School in 1955 and Jacksonville State University in 1959 with a BS degree in Accounting. He retired from Republic Steel in Gadsden. Jimmy, better known by classmates and friends as "Strobel," enjoyed boating, water skiing, music, sports and was an avid bowler.
Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by his father, James Wesley Davidson; and his mother, Eunice Blackwood Davidson.
He is survived by a loving aunt, Lucille Blackwood; and cousins, Janice Blackwood Sharpe, Mike Blackwood, Eddie Blackwood, Janey Head, Sarah Ann Head, Tommy Head, Carla Sue Houck and Johnny Davidson.
Mr. Davidson's memorial service will be held at Christ Central Church on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Sherri Reynolds officiating. Family visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. His burial will be at Cleveland Methodist Church in Cleveland, AL.
Pallbearers will be Mike Blackwood, Holt Blackwood, Eddie Blackwood, Tommy Head, Carl Sharpe, Jonathan Sharpe, Ken Sirmons, Bo Houck, Chris Etheridge and Nicholas Smith.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Medical Center ICU and Noland Hospital long term acute care center in Anniston for their excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Central Church; John Croyle Big Oak Ranch; or Cleveland Cemetery Fund Perpetual Care.
