Mrs. Carolyn Bishop Battles of Gallant went to be with her Lord after a brave battle against cancer on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the age of 66.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Gallant.
The Revs. Glen Stancil and Ray McMillan will officiate the service. Special music by the Pratt Family.
Graveside service and interment follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.
Mrs. Battles was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, her faith in God was so strong. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Battles; children, Jerri (Gene) Hill and Amy (Jonathan) Edwards; grandchildren, Hailey and Hannah Hill, Gracie Edwards; four brothers, Bruce (Linda) Bishop, Billy (Betty) Bishop, Gary (Marilyn) Bishop, Jimmy (Pat) Bishop; three sisters, Rachel Bishop Bartlett, Sarah Bishop Oliver, Betty Sue (Gerald) Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, A.B. (Connie) Battles and Charles Henson.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Herman Leath and Ethel Conaway Bishop; brothers, Donald (Audrey) Bishop, H.L. Bishop, George Bishop; nephew, Scott Bishop; sisters, Jo Ann Bishop Henson, Melba Bishop Clifton; brothers-in-law, Donald (Sue) Battles, J.W. Oliver, Frank Pike and Bill Bartlett.
Pallbearers will be Winston Henson, Shane Bishop, Michael Bishop, Kenneth Bishop, James E. Bishop, Bud Lett, Michael Lett, and Rickey Bishop.
Honorary pallbearers are James Richard Bishop, David Clifton, Randy Battles, David Battles, and Scott Battles.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made by making a donation at the next LifeSouth Blood Drive.
A special thank you to Dr. John Waples and the exceptional medical staff and volunteers of Clearview Cancer Institute of Huntsville. Thanks are also extended to the staff of Southern Care Hospice and our circle of friends for the cards, visits, texts, food and especially, their prayers.

Through the years I would see Carolyn at ball fields, Wal Mart, she was the same Carolyn I knew in high school, sweet & loving, always had a big smile, even when I knew she wasn't feeling well, My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Carolyn was a special lady.
