Robert Lynn Jones was a 1966 graduate of Gadsden High School. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War on one tour of duty. He was a retiree of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He was known for these things, but more importantly, he will be remembered for the love he had shown to everyone who ever came in contact with him. His greatest impact was demonstrating the love that Jesus told to us to give in the greatest of His commandments. Mark 12:30 and 31, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." The second is this: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Lynn Jones lived this every day of his life, and if there was one thing he would have wanted everyone in this world to do, it would be to follow these commandments. He knew the blessings, peace, happiness, joy and love following these commandments would bring and the home you would have in Heaven.
Robert Lynn Jones is survived by his loving and wonderful wife and best friend, Sybil Jones; favorite son, Brian Jones (wife and favorite daughter-in-law, Melissa); favorite daughter, Kristin Jones; father, James R. Jones; mother, Lois Jones; two brothers, Thomas G. Jones (wife Tammy) and James Michael Jones (wife Paula); father-in-law, W. C. "Richard" Snyder, two brothers-in-law, Dudley A. Snyder (wife Mary Ann) and James Stephen Snyder (wife Patsy); and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Martha E. Snyder.
Pallbearers will be Steve Miller, Eric Polk, Jason Jones, Scott Snyder, Simon Snyder and Eric Snyder. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the family and friends that he came in contact with over the years.
