Funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Village Chapel for Iola Downs Rials, 93, Gadsden. She went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010.

Mrs. Rials was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Earl Rials; son, Bennie Michael Rials; parents, O.C. and Mattie Downs; brothers, Emmett, Leonard and Shorty Downs; sister, Amber Clark.
She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. Countless people were blessed by her culinary skills and talents. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She never missed an opportunity to share her faith. Her favorite scripture passage was Proverbs 3: 5–6. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."
Mrs. Rials retired from Conger Life Insurance Company with more than 30 years of service. While employed there she set records for production, sales and service. She was a member of Life Underwriters Association. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and reading.
She is survived by daughters, Edna (Ron) Ricchi, Ruth (Jim) Ragsdale, Jo (Ray) Taylor; sons, Larry (Shelby) Rials and John (Dorothy) Rials; also left to cherish her memory, twin sister, Canola Elliott; sisters Camelia Baswell, Helen Hinkle and Ruth Turner; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends, Silvey Ford and Helen Buchanan.
Pallbearers will be nephews J.D. Gaskin, Byron Downs, Waylon Downs, Fred Benefield, Albert Clark and son-in-law Ron Ricchi.
Family visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, guests may join them from 10 to 11 a.m. and funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.
Bro. Stanley Naylor will officiate. Village Chapel Funeral Home will direct. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery, Boaz.
