Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Ollie Keith, 91, who passed away in Woodbridge, Va. The Rev. Darrell Brown will officiate with burial in Cullman City Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Keith was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Trafford. He was a longtime resident of Cullman and Gadsden and longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church. He served in WWII in the U S Air Corps (1942-1945). Mr. Keith was a life member of VFW Post 7916, Woodbridge, Va., and a Master Mason, Gadsden, was a watch maker by trade and retired from Sears with over 20 years of service. He loved his music, played guitar, fiddle and banjo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lela Scott Keith; wife, Edith Ruehl Keith, who died in 1968; and wife, Evelyn Wood Keith, who died in 2005; sister, Chlora Beck; brother, Earl Keith; and stepsister, Melba Keith Todd.
Survivors include his son, James David (Kaye) Keith, Woodbridge, Va.; grandchildren, James David Keith, Jr., Brandee Keith Odd and Kristi Keith (David) Tilch; great-grandchildren, David (Codee) Keith, Brandon Keith, Sara Keith, Kaylee Tilch and Landon Tilch; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends special thanks to Capital Caring Hospice for their help over the past eight months and to Emeritus Assisted living home in Woodbridge, Va.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
