Funeral services for Hazel L. Gunter, 89, Piedmont, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Gunter passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include a sister, Ruby Gresham, and a nephew, David Harris, both of Piedmont.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mrs. Gunter was a Piedmont resident most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont, where she volunteered in the nursery, was a member of the Esther and Fidelis Sunday School class and was a member of the Sunshine Club. She retired from SCT Yarn with nearly 40 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Gunter; her parents, Abe and Arizona Logan; a sister, Annie Ruth Logan; and a brother, Willis Harris.
Flowers may be sent, or memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Russell Ulrich and staff and the staff of Jacksonville Health and Rehab.
