She was preceded in death by parents, Hugh and Thenia Casson; sisters, Polly (Donald) Robertson, Audrey (Ralph) Tucker, Nell (Alvin) Jezek and Ruby Casson; brother, Hoyt (Mildred) Casson; and husband, George W. Edge Jr.
She is survived by son, Steve (Carol) Edge; grandson, Kevin (Erin) Edge; granddaughter, Kayla Edge Dodd; great-grandson, Jay Dodd; niece, Susan; nephews: Rickey, Rodney, Phillip, Randy and Billy; her best friends in this world, whom she loved dearly, Ethel Wells and Ruby McBroom; her extended family from Martins, Teresa, Betty, Beverly, Justin, Judy, Jane, Lisa, Shane, Nancy and Virginia; also her cherished friends and neighbors living in the Holy Comforter, Sue Gardner, Paula Hydeman and Ruth Bell. The four were sisters, taking care of each other, sharing laughs and enjoying each day. Betty loved everyone there and enjoyed her last adventure, "The Mardi Gras Parade."
Mother, you have always been my rock and a soft shoulder for me to lean on. You were always there whenever I had a problem and I don't know what I will do without you. I will miss you every day, but I know you are no longer in pain. I will love you forever mother.
Betty, I hope I helped comfort you during your illness. I told you I wouldn't leave you and would do whatever would make you feel better. We have had a ton of laughs and I will miss you terribly. Love, Carol.
Granny, I have so many memories of time spent with you throughout my life. I will treasure all of the happy times of my 33 years and hope that I was a good personal nurse for you as I promised. I love you so very much and will miss you more than I can say. Love, Kayla.
Granny, over the past 30 years, you have been the best Granny anyone could have. I love you more than words could ever describe and I can't wait to see you again one day! I am sure going to miss those egg sandwiches and tickling your knees. Love from your grandson!
Granny Betty, you have been just like a granny to me. I will miss you greatly, but will look out for your grandson. Love, Erin
Great-Gran, I love you more that you will ever know and I will keep you in my heart forever. Love, Jay.
