Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Lois Ogles Sims, 71, who passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. The Rev. Mike Hooks and the Rev. Wayne Sims II will officiate. There will be no graveside services; however, there will be a reception following the services at Life Church in Rainbow City. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Sims was born Oct. 22, 1941. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. For over 52 years of her life, she served as a minister and educator.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rader Ogles.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Sims I; children, Wayne (Deborah) Sims and Kelley Sims; granddaughter, Erin Sims; sister, Maureen Hooks; brother, Jack (Mary) Ogles; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Lawley Hospice Care and McGuffey Health Care Center for the exceptional care and service that they provided.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
