Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Diane "Pug" Mabrey, 63, of Rainbow City, with the Rev. Jay Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Mabrey went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 21. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a member of Dwight Baptist Church and was active in the Class of Grace Sunday School class. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and served on various committees of the church.
"Pug" had a magnetic personality. She was loving and compassionate to everyone she met. Her expressiveness, creativity and love of life brought great joy to others.
She was an inspiration to everyone who crossed her path. She leaves a world of friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Martin Smith; father, Ernest Conner; and niece, Gina Conner Deason.
Survivors, husband, Jerry Don Mabrey, Rainbow City; mother, Ernesta Conner, Attalla; daughter, Lori M. Smith (Harlin), Canton, Ga.; son, Juston S. Mabrey (Julie), Rainbow City; grandson, Mitch Mabrey; brother, Danny Conner (Carol), Attalla; chosen brother, Gary Lynn Moon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dwight Baptist Church, New Life Center Fund, 520 N. 29th St., Gadsden, AL 35904.
Pallbearers: Sherman Guyton, Larry Means, Matt Mabrey, Mark Waits, David Cochran and Ralph Stanfield.
Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday until the hour of service. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.
