A visitation for Mr. David M. McCallie, 73, of Rainbow City, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, from noon until 2 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Private family committal services will follow at Forrest Cemetery. The Rev. Dwight Gary will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Mr. McCallie passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Gadsden, Rainbow City and Etowah County. Mr. McCallie was employed by Gulf States Steel in the security department for 37 years. He was a devoted father, grandfather and friend to all. He was an avid golfer and was a member of River Trace Golf Club. He will be missed by all whose life he has touched.
Mr. McCallie was preceded in death by his father, T.A. McCallie; mother, Ruth C. McCallie; and brothers, Bobby C. McCallie and Jackie R. McCallie.
He is survived by his sons, Lance (Traci) McCallie and Michael David McCallie; a grandson, John Allen McCallie; and his best little furry friend, his cat Willie.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Gathering Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to John Croyle's Big Oak Ranch.
