A true Southern Gentleman, Robert E. "Bud" Davidson, 73, of Whorton Bend, was promoted home to be with his Heavenly Father on March 4, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Reba Davidson, Anniston; parents-in-law, Charles and Rene Dodd, Glencoe; brothers, Jack Davidson, Anniston, Bill Davidson, Birmingham; sisters, Betty (Gene) Burgess, Saks, Rosemary Crabtree, Raleigh, N.C., Peggy Chastain, Lake Wales, Fla.
Survivors include his loving wife, Benita Beddingfield-Davidson, Whorton Bend; son, Dr. Todd (Dr. Alison) Davidson, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; daughters, Hope (Michael) Stephens, Birmingham, Joy Davidson, Chelsea, Ala., Faith (Dr. Jason) Robinson, Cleveland, Tenn., Jordan Davidson, Whorton Bend; stepdaughter, Lynette Phillips, Enterprise, Ala.; chosen daughter, Amy (Derick) Reaves, Gadsden, Ala.; sisters, Sara Oswalt, Saks, Ala., Theresa (Teet) Ziegler, Ohatchee, Ala.; sisters-in-law, Sybil Davidson, Anniston, and Doris Davidson, Birmingham; grandchildren, Noah and Madelyn Robinson, Kaley and Jon-Michael Stephens, Dustin Johnson (Jenna), Dalton Long, Nicholas and Andrew Reaves; special niece, Yvonne (Allen) Coger, Weaver, Ala.; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog and companion, Lady.
Bud and Benita were married on March 4, 1989. Their favorite scripture is Romans 8:28.
Mr. Davidson was a retired Sales Manager of Kilpatrick Toyota, Boaz, Ala. He was previously employed with Sunny King Honda, Anniston, Ala. Bud won National Sales Awards with Honda Motor Company as a top salesman. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and an avid Alabama football fan.
He was a Master Gardener and enjoyed his volunteer work for his neighborhood. He attended Rainbow City Church of God and loved the men in his Senior Men's Sunday School class and his beloved teacher, Ralph Campbell.
Pallbearers: Danny Powell, Nicholas Reaves, Andrew Reaves, Derick Reaves, Chris Dillard, Dustin Johnson, Jon-Michael Stephens and Noah Robinson.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the or Rainbow City Church Of God.

Celebration of Life service will be Friday, March 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel with Bro. Doug Baker officiating. Visitation will be this evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
