Ruth Grider Obituary
Mrs. Grider was a resident of Gadsden until the last few years of her life, when she moved to Niceville, Florida, to live with her son and his family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Y. Grider; son, Daniel Y. Grider, II; and parents, Samuel Burton Cox and Mary Edith Crenshaw.
Mrs. Grider is survived by her son, Joe Grider, and his wife Louise Grider; and grandchildren, Jonathan Grider, Jennifer Grider Guthrie and Stephen Grider.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant College.
Friends are welcome to attend the graveside service to pay their final respects.

Ruth was an a special close friend of my mother's. She remained in contact with my sister and myself many years following our departure from Gadsden, AL and our mother's death. She was a delight to converse with and it was always great to renew memories of our friends and relatives that lived in Gadsden too. I can recall visiting her and Dan after they moved in a residence close to the backwaters of the Coosa River. It was always great to see them both! They took life one day at a time and enjoyed it to the fullest.

Joe & Family,
We were saddened to learn of Ruth departing this life. She was dear friend to our mother, Wilma Roscoe, prior to her death in 2006. We spoke with her during the Christmas holidays and she was upbeat as always. While she will be sorely missed, you will always have your memories of a wonderful and kind individual. Peace! I am so sorry to hear this news about Ruth. She was a wonderful lady who I just loved dearly. I have so many wonderful memories of our neighborhood and all of great times we shared. I am sorry I will not be there on Monday but please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!
