Mr. Carl Nathan Dowdle, age 62, of 128 Mount Pleasant Road, Spartanburg, S.C., answered the Master's call on Monday afternoon, April 3, 2017, at 1:55 P.M. at Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg.
Son of the late Thomas Dowdle and the late Hallean Dowdle, he was born on December 21, 1954, in Cherokee County, South Carolina. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Annette Byers and Mrs. Lelia O. Jefferies; and a brother, Mr. Horace Wilkins, Jr. At an early age he joined Mount Tabor Baptist Church. He was last employed at Grants Textile Industry.
Left to cherish fond memories are: two sons, Mr. Joseph Proctor, Sr. of Boiling Springs, S.C., and Mr. Travis Proctor of Gaffney; two daughters, Ms. Tamika Proctor of Gaffney and Ms. Ahesia Littlejohn of Spartanburg, S.C.; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Miss Skylar Rai Proctor; special friend of twenty-eight years, Ms. Sarah Jean Camp; four children reared in the home, Ms. Mary Camp, Ms. Dina Camp, Mr. Julious Camp and Mr. Adion Camp; five grandchildren, one of them, Miss Lydia Camp, was reared in the home; six sisters, Ms. Annie P. Smith, Mrs. Sandra Kay Norris (Napoleon), and Ms. Teresa Dowdle, all of Gaffney; Mrs. Andrea Leach (Spencer) of Spartanburg, S.C., Ms. Wanda Littlejohn of Jacksonville, Florida, and Mrs. Corneal Scott (Frank) of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; one aunt, Mrs. Zeoniba Brown of Gaffney; four generations of nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Napoleon and Sandra Norris at 119 Westmont Dr., Gaffney.
