Hawthorne - Albert L. Develle III (Bert) of Hawthorne died on Sat. Jan 26, 2013 at his home surrounded by family. Bert was born on July 18, 1949 in New Orleans, LA to Albert L. Develle II and Caroline Patricia Rice.
Graduate of Plant High School in Tampa, FL and the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Bert will be greatly missed by his wife Kathy of Hawthorne, sons Adam (Renee) Develle and Daniel (fiance Jamie Adams) Develle of Jupiter, FL; step-sons Drew (Anne) Shimkus also of Jupiter and Derek Shimkus of North Palm Beach, FL; Papa D to grandsons Ty and Brody Shimkus and Daddy D to Godchildren Philip and Lena Santoro of Middletown, Ct.; brothers Michael and David Develle and sister Holly Booker as well as many friends and relatives.
Founder and President of Capital Title Co. of West Palm Beach Inc. located in Palm Beach Gardens and Hawthorne for 30 years until his retirement in 2007. Past president of Palm Beach Gardens Kiwanas where he was awarded the George W. Hixon award for his commitment and dedication. Bert was also past president of the Lake Area Kiwanas in Keystone Heights. Member of the Melrose Business Association, a spiritual book club in Melrose and volunteer at the Melrose Public Library where he loved reading to the children and participating in art projects.
Bert was a voracious reader, his many interests included religion, history and politics. He loved the game of golf and Gator football.
Bert was buried Jan. 27, 2013 at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in Gainesville according to the Baha'i faith.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Nature Coast for their compassion and understanding.
A celebration of Bert's life will be held on Jan. 30th 2013 at his home 125 Hour Glass Circle, Hawthorne, FL between the hours of 5pm-8pm.
