GRUBEL, ALISHA GRACE, 20 Gainesville - Alisha Grace Grubel, 20, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014. She was born November 9, 1994 in Gainesville, Florida. Alisha was a graduate of Newberry High School where she played in the band and was a cheerleader. She continued her education at Santa Fe College pursuing a degree in accounting. Besides going to school full time, Alisha was employed by AMEC in Jonesville as a lab technician. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by her parents, Kerry and Karen Grubel of Gainesville; maternal grandmother, Barbara Grodewald; maternal grandfather, Paul Grodewald; paternal grandparents, John and Judy Grubel; sister, Casey R. Grubal and cousins, Courtney Ray and Hailee Grodewald. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., in Trinity United Methodist Church, 4000 NW 53rd Avenue, with Dr. Dan Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Newberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, December 22, 2014, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. Born in Brooker, FL to Lorene and the late Emanuel Gilmore, Sr. He's survived by devoted companion, Linda Raye; mother, Lorene Hill Gilmore; 8 children; 2 sisters; and many other relatives. GRIFFIN, RUSSELL CARLTON, 79 Gainesville - Russell Carlton Griffin, age 79, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, December 15, 2014, in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on August 30, 1935 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Lee Roy & Vivian Griffin. Russell married Pearl Jones on October 22, 1960 at Calvary Baptist Church in West Palm Beach. They moved to Gainesville in January 1974 where they raised their four children. Russell retired from BellSouth in 1986 after working 30 years. He was a member of Northwest Baptist Church where he served on the Building and Grounds and Audio committees. Russell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pearl; daughter Karen; sons Kevin (April), Randall (Jennifer) of Tampa, and Brian (Katherine) of Cornelius, NC; and nine grandchildren - Stephen, Thomas, Brittani, Andrew, Brandi, Ryleigh, Shaunacie, Delainey, and Gage. Two brothers Charles Griffin and DeWitt Griffin, both of West Palm Beach. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Northwest Baptist Church, 5514 NW 23rd Ave. Entombment will follow in Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central's Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Northwest Baptist Church. GEORGE, CLEONA REA, 92 Cleona Rea George, 92, died peacefully at home on December 13, 2014. She was the daughter of John Palmer Rea and Norma Ethel Kreis Rea. She was born on April 9, 1922 in Benton, Franklin County, Illinois. After graduating from Valier High School, she received her BA from Southern Illinois University in 1942. She later received her MS from University of South Florida. Mrs. George taught Kindergarten in Springfield, Illinois and Ozona, Florida before she retired from teaching in 1983. She was an active member of The Alachua Arabian Horse Association and Westside Baptist Church. Mrs. George is survived by 4 children, Cherry (James) Steinmeier, Derek (Donna) George, Cynthia (Dale) Young, and Alicia Patterson, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to especially thank her caregivers, Lisa and Lucy, for their gentle and loving care of Mom during the last several months. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20, at 2:00 pm at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, Illinois with Reverend Richard Rea officiating.
