BROWN, LOIS MAUDE
BROWN, LOIS MAUDE, 83 Louis Maude Brown, 83, passed away April 9, 2015, at Lakeland Regional Health Center, unable to recover from a hip fracture. She was born in Live Oak, Fla. September 21, 1931 to Louis Jeptha and Moseley Hardee Day. While pursuing a teaching degree at the newly coed Florida State University she met the love of her life on visits back home to Live Oak. She eventually married V. B. 'Sonny' Brown, and they had 62 good years together! She always kept close a sense of 'little girl wonder,' from growing up years on Pine Street, then later at Suwannee Springs, always close to her loving parents; of course also 'Gang and Mother' (grandparents Gov. Cary and Maude Hardee). This was uniquely balanced as an adult by a fierce sense of pride in family, and determination as a mother. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church. She is now Home, with Jesus, Papa Sonny Brown, and all the rest. She is preceded in death by husband Sonny, her parents, sister Virginia Green, brother Cary Day. She is survived by sons Jep (Marisol), Michael (Karin), and Greg; daughter Barbara Ann; grandchildren Brian Brown, Jenni Roberts (Mike), Rachel Magnoni (Kirk), Rebecca Brown (Alex), Michael Campagnone, Megan Brown, Matthew Brown, Gregory Brown, and Spencer Brown; great-grandchildren Kade Maulden, Gracie Roberts, Santino 'Sonny' Magnoni, and Jonah Magnoni. Extra special mention and thanks to niece Moseley Ruark and husband Ray for their love and support through the years, and also to her companion ad caregiver, Miriam Valderrama, who brought many more smiles to her face than anyone. Much appreciation to Ivoree, Pat, Bernice, Marion Voncile, Lawanna, Ednell, Bully, Bruce and all the rest for visiting her and pushing her to remain active these recent years. Visitation will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 from noon to 2PM at the First Baptist Church on west Howard Street in Live Oak, Fla. A memorial service will follow at 2 PM, with Steve Sweitzer and Rev. Ray Ruark officiating. In lieu of flowers, consider a contribution to a new idea for an old beautiful town. We are establishing the VB and Louis Brown Memorial Trust Fund for city of Live Oak beautification e.g. Cemetery up keep/update, Heritage Park and related endeavors. This fund will be set up at First Federal Bank of Florida. Please sign the guest book at danielsfuneralhome.com Daniels Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc.
