BETTY SUE KERR, 74
Alachua - Betty Sue Kerr Sherouse, age 74 of Alachua, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was born May 29, 1939 in Joaquin, TX to Lonnie L. Sr. and Doyce Smith Kerr. She was a graduate of Gainesville High School and a member of the Church of Christ. She was a very loving and devoted wife and mother to her husband and four children. She was a bookkeeper for the family business, Sherouse Plastering for over 30 years and later in life became a licensed Home Child Care Provider because of her love for children. She was happiest when surrounded by family and loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her but never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Lamar Kerr, Sr. and Doyce S. Kerr; sister, Bobbie Ann Kerr; brother, Lonnie Lamar Kerr, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Oscar Sherouse, Bob Willis, Eddie Smith and GW Sherouse, Jr.; sister-in-law, Lottie Clyatt and son-in-law, Brian R. Gillespie.
Mrs. Sherouse is survived by her husband of 56 years, Leonard Sherouse, Sr.; step-mother, Dorothy Kerr; sisters, Jean Jackson and Linda Bower; four children, Deborah Sherouse Glisson (Randall S. Glisson, Sr.), Leonard E. Sherouse, Jr. (Nancy Spear Sherouse), Julie Sherouse Gillespie and David L. Sherouse (M. Suzette Sherouse); grandchildren, Kristy Sherouse Stanford, David Sneed, Jr., Jason Sneed, Leonard Heith Sherouse, Eric Sneed, Julie D. Glisson, Brian Nicolas Gillespie, Randall S. Glisson, Jr., Dillon L. Sherouse and Carson D. Sherouse; step-grandchildren, Charles L. Williams, II and Michael R. Williams; 10 great grandchildren and 18 nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Minister Harry Collins officiating.
