Interlachen - Glenda Douglas, 53, of Interlachen, passed away suddenly March 1, 2013 at Putnam Community Hospital. Glenda was born in Savannah, Ga. and moved to Gainesville as a teen. Obtaining her teaching degree, she was a teacher at Idlewild Elementary and had taught previously in Putnam County. She truly loved art in which she had achieved a secondary degree.

She is survived by her husband Gary Stanley, children Starla Stanley and Thomas Douglas, grandchild Asia all of Interlachen, brothers Paul Smiley (Hope), Brian Smiley of Georgia and Scott Grantham of Florida, sisters Nancy Secrist (Wayne) and Teresa Averitt (David) of Gainesville. Many family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00AM at Highland Missionary Baptist Church, 2620 NE 15th Street, Gainesville, FL with Pastor Richard Hartmann officiating. Inurnment will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park East, 3700 SE Hawthorne Rd., Gainesville, FL.
