Gainesville - Jack Louis Beville, age 88, died on September 4, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Gainesville, Florida on October 10, 1924 to Theophilus Harper and Mary Ethel Hunt Beville.

Jack was a life-long resident of Gainesville and a member of one of its pioneer families. Jack entered the U.S. Army in W.W.II at age 16 and served in the 101st Airborne Division with Honor. He retired from Dupont and the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Theophilus Harper Beville, Jr., who was killed in action in W.W. II.

Jack is survived by his wife of forty years, Virginia Gainey Beville; a daughter and son-in-law, Michele "Mickey" Beville-Lambert (Joel) of Gainesville; a son, Jack Louis Beville, Jr. of Roanoke, VA; and a grandson, Travis Harper Beville (Megan) of Gainesville.

The family will receive friends at Milam Funeral Home, Gainesville, FL, on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 PM. Graveside Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 9, 2013 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, Gainesville with ACSO and Military Honors. A reception will be held following the service at the Thomas Center from 3:00-4:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches, Inc.
