Trenton - Jimmie Darrel Rogers of Trenton, FL passed away the evening of April 5th; due to complications from COPD. He was born in Salem Kentucky May 26th, 1939 to Christine Croft Rogers and Earl Rogers. He grew up and spent most of his life in Evansville, Indiana. He joined the army in 1958 and was stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas as well as Ft. Sherman where he was a missile technician while stationed in the Panama Canal Zone. After his discharge he relocated to Tallahassee, Florida to attend Florida State University and pursue his passion for photography. While in school he worked at a local newspaper as a photographer. When he returned to Indiana he worked at several commercial photography studios. He eventually opened his own studio "Creative Eye Photography" in Evansville, IN until he retired to Florida in 1999.

He is the only son of Christine Croft-Schele and stepdad Charles Schele. Jim is survived by his 4 children and two grandchildren; daughters Shannon Silcox, her husband Jerome Silcox; Stacey Hoyt, her husband Terry Hoyt; son Scott Rogers, his wife Angie Rogers and son Brandon Rogers; grandson Chaly Rogers and granddaughter Nicole Rogers. He is also survived by a previous stepdaughter Stephanie Kiefer.

Jim requested his ashes be sprinkled in the waters at Cedar Key, Florida. He requested no formal service.
