BAILEY, JOANN

On February 1, 1946 a baby girl, JoAnn was born to Mack and Susie Braswell. JoAnn was the seventh of eight children. She is survived by her eldest sister, Lillian Fussell, and her baby sister, Charlotte Ann Brannon. JoAnn is preceded in death by her loving parents and five brothers. In death JoAnn Braswell Bailey joins her beloved husband Thurman "Scott" Bailey, United in Holy Matrimony on April 23, 1966. Scott and JoAnn are the parents of three children. First born, a son Brian Scott, two daughters Raquel Leigh "Kelly" and Shellie Renee'. Proceeded in death by her mother-in-law Norma Virginia Bailey and brother-in-law Randy Brannon. She is survived by he two brothers-in-law Darrell Bailey and Ronald Dale Brannon, daughter in-law Darlene Bailey, and son-in-law Jeffery Beauchamp.

JoAnn was a proud and loving grandmother her grandchildren are starting with the eldest Thurman Scott Bailey, Nadia Elaine Bailey, Vanden Wilder Fehmerling, Bailey Renee' Beauchamp, Brian Caiden Fermerling, Rieley Omera Beauchamp, Tristan Luke Bailey and the youngest Tanner Mack Bailey.

JoAnn evoked all qualities and attributes of the very definition of mother. By grace was mother to David Leroy Braswell and Patricia Grace Eplee. Grandchildren Jared & Kelley Ann Douglas and Kayla Elizabeth Braswell, one great grandson Grayson Douglas to be joined by his cousin in May.

JoAnn was a life long resident of Chiefland, Fl widowed in 1978 she raised her children as mother and father. She enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren about the things she enjoyed. JoAnn enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, farming and gardening. She worked as an insurance agent. Retiring in 1998 yet maintaining and nurturing the friendships formed along the way.

JoAnn Braswell Bailey will be remembered as a remarkable woman who loved much.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Chiefland. Interment is to follow at Chiefland Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland.
