Paul L. Sibley, M.D. died at the age of 53, on December 19, 2009. He was born and raised in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was a 22 year resident of Ocala, Florida where he resided at the time of his death. He succumbed to complications of a stroke.

Paul graduated from Seabreeze High School, Daytona Beach, Florida in 1974, FSU 1978 and Meharry Medical College 1982. He completed his OB/GYN residency at University of Florida in 1986. He had been a Daytona Beach News Journal paperboy with his brothers for 8 years as a teenager and was employed at All Women's Health Center for 21 years as a surgeon and gynecologist.

Paul's hobbies and interests included power boating, hunting and marlin fishing. He was an avid, life-long NASCAR, FSU and NFL fan and loved thrift stores but especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family, fishing and boating.

Paul was a lifetime member of the AMA, the Florida Medical Association and a life-long member of the Billfish Association.

Paul is survived by his brother Mark Sibley, M.D., Ophthalmologist, St. Petersburg, Dale Sibley Priest Ryals, (Dr. Dick), Ormond Beach, and Jill Sibley Butler, R.N., Daytona Beach, Florida. His nephews include Kevin Priest, PhD student at UF, (Colleen) Gainesville and Paul Sibley, DO, Phillidelphia, (Mary), one niece Laura Sibley Perkins, New York City, (Perk).

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Jack and Alyce Sibley, of Daytona Beach, his brother Craig Sibley, M.D., Ft. Myers, nephew David Priest, Ormond Beach.

Paul is also survived by numerous long-time friends and co-workers espicially Kathy Olson, Brenda Welch, Gainesville and Lynn Mizner, Ocala. His presence will be abundantly missed by all.

The motto he lived by was: live, laugh and love. Five words that sum up his life would be: family, friends, boating, fishing, thrift shops.

The celebration of Paul's life will be held at Tomoka Oaks Country Club, 20 Tomoka Oaks Blvd., Ormond Beach, Fl. on February 27, 2010, at 2:00 P.M., in his honor.
