Melrose - Mr. Robert Dean "Bobby" Strickland, 79, resident of Melrose, Florida, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 following a brief illness with his wife of 51 years by his side.

He served in the United States Navy with an honorable discharge in 1961. Following military service, Bobby went to work for the family business, Economy Printing until his retirement in 2000. Bobby had a passion for fishing on Lake Santa Fe. He had always dreamed of living on the lake. He fulfilled his dream when he moved his family to Lake Santa Fe in 1984 and continued enjoying the lake with his wife, sons and grandsons until his death.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Margaret Strickland of Melrose; three sons, Robert (Michelle) Strickland of Jacksonville, Tim (Deborah) Strickland of Keystone Heights and Joseph (Emily) Strickland of Tampa; four sisters and two grandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at Keystone Heights Cemetery, 7344 SR 100, Keystone Heights, FL. A reception will be held immediately following at Community Church of Keystone Heights in the Family Life Center, 345 SE Palmetto Avenue, Keystone Heights, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Church of Keystone Heights, 345 SE Palmetto Avenue, Keystone Heights, FL 32656 or to Haven Hospice, The Roberts Care Center, 6400 St. John's Ave. Palatka, FL 32177.
