Alachua - Alma M. Fairley Johnson, 77, passed away Jan. 5, 2013 at E.T. York Care Center.

She was born in Bland, and has lived in the Alachua area all of her life. She was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church where she had served as an usher.

Survivors include three sons Roy Curtis Fairley, (Linda) James Johnson, Jr. (Warndella) Kenneth Lee Johnson (Vickie) all of Alachua, FL; one brother James Lee Fairley, Gainesville, FL; three sisters Frances Greenhouse, Philadelphia, PA, Martha Parks (Eddie) Tampa, FL, Marian Wade, (Al) Newark, NJ, 24 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 5 Great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at St. Matthews Baptist Church Alachua, FL with Rev. Charles Simmons pastor. Interment will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home, 18 N.W. 8th Ave Gainesville, FL. Visitation Friday Chestnut Memorial Chapel 2:00-7:00 PM and on Saturday at the church one hour before the service. The cortege will form at the home of Mrs. Johnson, 13227 N.W. 157th Ave Alachua, FL at 9:15 AM.
