PERKINS,

ANNE MARIE NORMAN

3/26/23 - 2/17/14

Anne was born in NYC to Swedish parents. She lived there until 1944 when she met & married Roy Perkins. Anne moved to Florida & stayed with his family until Roy returned from active naval service.

They settled in Gainesville and lived at Glen Springs, managing the pool & concession stand while rearing three children. After the pool closed Anne worked at & retired from the U of F Reitz Student Union in Meetings & Reservations.

Anne was active in the community and loved sewing, quilting, cooking, ceramics, gardening, travel and genealogy. She also enjoyed feeding most of the cats in her neighborhood. She had a quick wit, big blue eyes, a beautiful smile and was kind & generous.

She is survived by her children: Ruth (Bill), Bozeman, MT; Jim (Jane), Salt Lake City; Nell (Eric) Sorensen, Los Angeles; grandchildren, Katelyn (FL) & Jonathan (CA); nieces & nephews in New Jersey, Georgia and Florida.

A memorial celebration is planned for the fall. Remembrances in Anne's name can be sent to Haven Hospice, Gainesville, North Central Baptist Church or a preferred charity.
