Bryson Richards Leland, 70, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at home, June 25, 2012 among family and friends. One of the twins of Horace and Mary Ellen Leland, Bryson was born in Charleston, South Carolina on November 28, 1941. He served in the United States Marine Corps for six years (58-64) and later retired from the Alachua County School Board in 1996.

Bryson is survived by his twin brother, Horace (Sally) Wells Leland, III of Knickerbocker, Texas; his wife of 44 years, Thelma Prevatt Leland; daughter, Tammy (Carl) Mader; son, Bill Leland; and eight granddaughters, Stephanie, Catrina, Jessica, Vicki, Mackenzie, Kristin, Courtnie and Kelcee. He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Pat Cross.

Bryson loved his front porch, his Gator Football Team and his dog, Gator. He was very proud to be a Marine and a proud papa.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 29, 2012 at 2:00PM in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 N.W. 143rd Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2015 S.W. 75th Street, Gainesville, FL 32607.
