Carrie Williams-Williams, age 91, wife of the late Earl Williams, Retired Educator with the Alachua County Schools (for over 40 years), Member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Co-Founder of the Les Filles Civic Club (January, 1960) & Charter Member of the Eta Phi Beta Sorority, left this earthly realm on Thursday, April 5, 2018, in Gainesville, Florida.
After graduating from Lincoln High School (in 1947), Mrs. Williams attended Florida A&M University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree and later a Master of Science Degree from NOVA University (in 1977) in Elementary Education.
At Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church where she was a devoted Member throughout the years, Mrs. Williams was a Member of Choir #1, the Wesleyan Service Guild, Church Secretary, the United Methodist Circle, the United Methodist Women, the Children's Ministries and the Culinary Ministry.
Funeral Services will be held 2:30PM Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church (Gainesville, FL) with her Pastor, Reverend Dr. Geraldine W. McClellan, delivering the Eulogy. The Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Mrs. Williams will be viewed at the Funeral Home on Friday 2:00-7:00PM (during which time the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will render the Omega Omega Services at 5:00PM). Mrs. Williams will also be viewed at the Church on Saturday 30 Minutes prior to the Service - And with the Processional. The Procession will form at the residence of her niece & nephew - Dianne & Charles Gordon, 1007 NE 24th Terr, Gainesville, at 1:45PM.
Mrs. Williams leaves behind a sister-in-law - Lillian Williams of Gainesville, FL; brothers-in-law - Cyrus Footman of Bronx, NY and James Footman (& Carrie) of Deland, FL; nieces, nephews & friends.
