Micanopy, Florida - Mr. Carson McNeil Roberts age 91, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center. Mr. Roberts was born in Gainesville, Florida September 15, 1921, moved to Micanopy Florida in 1930. He was an Electrician with I.B.E. W. Local 1205 in Gainesville, FL. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the United States Army Air Corps with the 332nd Bomb Squadron in the Rhineland Central Europe. /Carson was President of the Micanopy Historical Cemetery Association, was on the Town Council for over forty years, was a member and Deacon, Sunday School Director and Moderator of the Micanopy Baptist Church as well as a Giddean, Carson was preceded in death by his Parents John Albert and Maude Elizabeth Sparks Roberts, his brother John Roberts and his first wife Pauline C. Roberts in 1970.
Survivors include his wife, of years twenty-eight years. Ethel Faye Stephens Roberts of Micanopy, FL. his son Mike Roberts (Cheryl) of Micanopy, son, Harold Gordon Friese of Florahome, daughter, Deborah Faye Atkins, Gainesville, FL. grandchildren, Michael Roberts, II, Jordyn Roberts, Courtney Roberts, Cody Friese, Shayne Hylton, Seth Hylton, Heather Lovell (Joey),and niece Lisa Polsen (Alan)
The family will receive friends at the Milam Funeral Home, 311 South Main St., Gainesville on Sunday July 21m 2013 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Micanopy Baptist Church on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Burial to follow in Micanopy Historic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Micanopy Baptist Church, PO Box 494, Micanopy, FL 32667.
