Gainesville - Charles Joseph Croteau, age 83, died 8 July 2013 of complications from Parkinson's disease. Charles was born in Hancock, Michigan to Nell Fournier Croteau and Joseph Croteau of Hancock, and was predeceased by his sister Mary Croteau of Ann Arbor, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan Technological University with a BS in Physics, received his Masters degree in Mathematics from Florida State University, and completed post-graduate work in Physics at University of Michigan. Charles served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War Conflict era. He had a long and distinguished career in earth imaging technology, primarily with GE Aerospace, in engineering & management positions on the Apollo and LandSat programs.

He is survived by 4 daughters - Connie Croteau Brashear of Gainesville, Florida; Margie Croteau of Winter Springs, Florida; and Frances Croteau of Ellicott City, Maryland, as well as 4 grandchildren. He will be remembered fondly by all that knew him and cared for him.

He will be laid to rest at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, Florida, 32606 or North Florida Retirement Village, 8000 NW 27th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606.
