Hainesworth - Clarence McClellon, affectionately known as "Dink" passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at his home. He was born in Santa Fe, FL, he moved to Hainesworth, from Tampa, FL in 1963.
Clarence was a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his son Clarey Walker, Jr., parents, Willie & Phillis McClellon, siblings Juanita Nelson, Willie McClellon, Jr., Edward McClellon and great-grandson Tyrone Rhodes.
Survivors include devoted wife of 52 years Carmen Lydia McClellon, Hainesworth, FL; two sons Robert Jenkins, (Pauline Williams) Alachua, FL, Shane McClellon, Gainesville, FL; four daughters, Carmen Graham (Lorenzo) Micanopy, FL, Anna Walker Parks Hainesworth, FL, Linda Jenkins, (Skip Thomas) Gainesville, FL, Janice Bowers (Ray Mahoney) Ocala, FL; three brothers Horace McClellon, Monteocha, FL, McArthur McClellon, (Pearl) Providence, FL, Richard McClellon, Gainesville, FL; two sisters Ella Mae Fulcher, Hainesworth, FL, Cynthia Harris, Gainesville, FL; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Service for Mr. McClellon will be held on Saturday at 3:00 PM New Shiloh Baptist Church Hainesworth, FL, Rev. Ernest Holmes, Pastor, Rev. Sidney Jackson Officiating. Burial will follow in Newnansville Cemetery under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home, 18 N.W. 8th Ave. Gainesville, FL. Visitation Friday Chestnut Chapel 2:00-7:00 PM and on Saturday at the church one hour before the service. The cortege will form at the home of Mr. & Mrs. McClellon at 2:30 PM.
