Gainesville - Cleo Strawder 86, peacefully passed away Jan. 17, 2013 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. He was a retired business owner of Strawder's Fish Market, and Strawder's Grocery. He was preceded in death by his parents Cleveland and Mattie Strawder; two sisters Corrine Strawder, and Mulveta Jamison.

Cleo is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Novella Strawder; five children Robert Strawder (Mary) William Strawder, (Mary) Ira Strawder, (Michelle) Valerie Littles, (Willie) Pamela Garcia (Thomas) all of Gainesville, FL; brother Willie Strawder, Bland, FL, Easter Simmons (Shelley) Annie Pearl Strawder all of Gainesville, FL; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Strawder will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 826 N.W. 23rd Ave. Gainesville, FL. Rev. Alan Gaylord, Host Pastor, Rev. Gregory E. Pelham, officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery Bland, FL under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home 18 N.W. 8th Ave Gainesville, FL. Visitation Friday Chestnut Memorial Chapel 2:00 - 7:00 PM and on Saturday at the church one hour before the service. The cortege will form at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Strawder, 635 N.E. 19th Terrace at 10:15 AM.
